Privacy policy

What TrySEO collects, why, who else touches it, and how to get it deleted. Written to be read.

Last updated: 20 September 2026

This policy covers the TrySEO website and application (“TrySEO”, “we”). It describes our actual data practices in plain words. It is not legal advice. If anything here is unclear, write to hello@tryseo.pro.

The short version

  • We store your account email, a salted hash of your password, and the project data you create.
  • We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in. No analytics cookies, no advertising cookies, no trackers.
  • To research and write, the necessary text is sent to Google’s Gemini API. Hosting and the database run on Cloudflare.
  • We do not sell your data. You can ask us to export or delete it at any time.

What we collect

Account data

Your email address and your password. The password is never stored as written: we store a salted hash made with PBKDF2, which cannot be turned back into the password. We also store your credit balance and a record of credits used and refunded.

Project data

Everything you create in TrySEO: the domain of each project, its brand profile, seed keywords and discovered keywords, topic clusters, writing styles and author personas, articles with their meta data, and the audit results for those articles.

Pages from your website

When you ask for a brand scan, TrySEO fetches the homepage of the domain you entered and up to three internal pages, and uses their text to draft the brand profile. Only publicly reachable pages are fetched, and only for the domain you provide.

CMS credentials

If you connect WordPress or a webhook, the site URL and the credentials you enter (for example a WordPress username and application password, or a webhook secret) are stored in our database so TrySEO can publish on your behalf. Connecting a CMS is optional. We recommend a WordPress application password rather than your main password, because you can revoke it at any time.

Technical data

Like any web service, our hosting provider processes technical request data such as IP addresses in order to deliver pages and keep the service secure. We do not use it to build profiles of visitors.

Cookies

TrySEO uses one cookie, named tryseo_session. It keeps you signed in and protects forms against forged requests. It is set when you use the application, is marked HttpOnly, SameSite=Lax and Secure, and lasts 14 days. It is essential: the application cannot work without it.

There are no analytics cookies, no advertising cookies and no third-party trackers on this site.

How we use your data

  • To run your account and keep you signed in.
  • To provide the product: brand profiles, keyword discovery, article generation, audits and, if you choose, publishing.
  • To keep track of credits.
  • To answer you when you write to us.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.

Who else processes it

Cloudflare

TrySEO is hosted on Cloudflare, and its database runs there. All account and project data is stored with Cloudflare.

Google (Gemini API through Google Cloud)

TrySEO uses Google’s Gemini models, including Google Search grounding, to draft brand profiles, discover keywords, research search results and write articles. To do that, the text needed for the task is sent to the Gemini API: for example the text fetched from your site, your brand profile, your keywords and article drafts. Your password and your CMS credentials are never sent to it.

Google Fonts and the editor library

The site’s typeface is loaded from Google Fonts, so your browser makes a request to Google’s servers when a page loads. Inside the application, the article editor loads an open-source editor library from its public content delivery network.

Your own CMS

When you publish, the article is sent to the WordPress site or webhook address that you configured.

How long we keep it

Account and project data is kept while your account exists. Sessions expire after 14 days and expired sessions are removed automatically. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete the account and its project data.

Your choices

You can edit your brand profile, keywords and articles in the application at any time. To get a copy of your data, to correct it, or to have your account and data deleted, email hello@tryseo.pro from the address of your account. We will act on the request and confirm when it is done.

Security

Traffic is encrypted in transit, passwords are stored only as salted hashes, and the session cookie is not readable by scripts. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a unique password and revocable credentials for your CMS.

Children

TrySEO is a business tool and is not directed at children.

Changes to this policy

If our data practices change, this page will change with them and the date at the top will be updated.
